Check out eViticulture!

eViticulture.org This website is a result of a national initiative to pull together resources from the viticulture specialists from across America's land grant universities. The information is made available to the commercial grape industry throughout the US. Check it out today!

The research team in viticulture explores the main aspects of vineyard ecology from vine physiology, cultural management practices, nutrition, water stress, soil and root physiology, insect pests (IPM), and plant pathology.

The enology research team works on various aspects of yeasts, fermentations, wine chemistry, flavor chemistry and sensory science.

Who we are...

Oregon State University Viticulture & Enology Programs

The Viticulture and Enology programs at OSU are housed within the Oregon Wine Research Institute, and they deliver research, extension and teaching programs that enhance Oregon’s regional, national and international reputation for sustainable vineyard and winery production and high standard of quality for both grapes and wine. We seek to understand and assist growers and winemakers in increasing efficiency and profitability while also considering sustainable production practices.

The Viticulture and Enology Programs are interdisciplinary and involve collaboration with multiple institutions, thereby creating a strong and unique group of researchers and Extension specialists to meet the needs of industry and future industry members. See the "Faculty and Staff" page for more information on each team member.
