The online Extension course in viticulture will be offered online to industry/public from January – March 2010. Course content will cover the how and why of vineyard management practices, focusing on the production and physiology behind the practices. Students are encouraged to think critically about practices and make informed decisions based on vine physiology and management research.

You can participate in lectures in one of two ways:

1. Live online access to the course from the comfort of your home or office computer (internet connection and audio are required)*
2. Participate on-campus in Corvallis (4000 ALS Building)

*Note: Lectures are recorded and made available for later viewing. The course does not require live participation online. However, to receive full learning benefit from being in the course, live online participation is encourage whenever possible.

What can I say, it was a great course. I learned a great deal and am stimulated to research and try other management styles within our vineyards and better record data from our different blocks to make more informed decisions.

This is an excellent lecture series. The core study material was very informative while the additional material added additional depth. The combination of live online lecture/lecture notes and the recorded lectures worked well together, enabling me to make up missed classes due to work, and review/clarify parts of the lectures that I may have poorly understood.
